For Eric Church, Getting Fired By Rascal Flatts Was A Good Thing

In this week’s cover story for Billboard Magazine, Eric Church, as well as Laura Bell Bundy and Joe Nichols, describe the route they’ve taken to get to where they are today. It’s a good article that I highly recommend you check out if you’ve got a few minutes. I found Eric Church’s story to be interesting because I didn’t know much about his early career.

Back when Eric was first starting to enjoy success, he was opening up for Rascal Flatts. However, he was fired from their stadium tour because he kept running over his opening act time limit. After that, Eric and his management team decided it was best for Eric to start playing smaller rock clubs around the country. Because of that, Eric has a very diverse fan base, and it’s definitely paid off for him.

His latest album Carolina has been his most successful album to-date spawning two top ten hits so far with Love Your Love The Most and Hell On The Heart. To read the complete article and find out the path that Laura Bell Bundy and Joe Nichols have taken, go to this page on Billboard.com.

Back in 2001, Tim McGraw was on fire. His single Grown Men Don’t Cry went to number one on June 16, 2001. It was the first of three number one singles Tim scored in 2001. Enjoy this look back at two great number one songs!
