Thanks to our friends at CountryMusicTattleTale.com for finding this little gem. It’s a clip of Carrie Underwood in concert last night performing with Ashley from Sons of Sylvia. They’re singing What Can I Say, and the reason Carrie and Ashley are cracking up is because Ashley is singing the song with “fangs” in his mouth. Enjoy!
Unless you’ve been living under a rock in the middle of the Mojave Desert, you know that Sugarland just released a new album called The Incredible Machine. As of today, it’s sitting on top of both the Billboard Country and the Billboard Hot 200 album charts. That’s not bad for my hometown two-some. In honor of their new album topping the charts, we’re giving away three copies of The Incredible Machine autographed by Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush. So, how do you win? You can win three different ways:
1. Follow us on Twitter (@TodaysCountry) and RT this message (When we hit 2,500 followers, we’ll pick the winner from all the RT’s whenever that is. If it happens today, we’ll pick the winner today. We’re at 2,458 followers at this moment.)
2. “Like” us on Facebook and comment on this post on Facebook (Just like Twitter, when we hit 1,400 fans on Facebook, we’ll pick a winner. We’re currently at 1,377 as of right now.)
3. Leave a comment here on the site about Sugarland. You can comment about the new album, Jennifer, Kristian, the band, etc. We’ll pick a winner from all the comments on Friday morning, November 5, 2010 at 8am est.
To wet your appetite for the new album, here’s a video playlist from their live online concert from NYC on October 18, 2010. Good luck and enjoy!
You and Tequila is a track on Kenny Chesney’s new album Hemingway’s Whiskey. It’s actually one of my favorite songs on the album. It’s a duet with Grace Potter, the lead singer of Grace Potter & the Nocturnals. Last night at the Ryman, they were the opening act for the Avett Brothers, and they surprised the crowd by bringing Kenny onstage to sing this song with them.
According to CMT.com, “While many in the audience seemed to be in a state of disbelief, Chesney received a warm welcome when he walked onstage wearing khaki pants, blue long-sleeve T-shirt and knit cap. He watched the band’s entire set from the side of the stage.”
While I love seeing stars like Kenny in concert, I almost wish every major act would take a year off from touring because it enables them to do things like this. If anyone reading this happened to be at the show last night, let us know how it went. Thanks and enjoy this interview with Kenny and Grace about You and Tequila.
Since the results of our Twitter poll from a few weeks ago revealed that quite a lot of you are huge fans of Casey James, I thought y’all might enjoy this video playlist containing six Casey James videos. Enjoy!
Trent Tomlinson’s new single is called I Cross My Heart. If this one gets enough plays on the radio, it’ll be a big hit for Trent. Enjoy!
P.S. The funny thing about this video is the guitar player to Trent’s left seems to be asleep towards the end of the song.
Today’s #1 flashback comes from 1999 when Martina McBride’s I Love You moved up to number one on the Billboard Hot Country charts on this day. I don’t know about you, but I love Martina McBride with short hair…
Favorite Waste Of Time is the latest single from Will Hoge’s The Wreckage album. For more about Will, visit his official website at WillHoge.com. I think you’re going to like this one. Will’s an awesome singer/songwriter who deserves more airplay. If you like this one, give your local radio station a call and ask them to play it. Thanks!
