Montgomery Gentry Nominated For “Duo Video Of The Year” For The 2012 CMT Music Awards
New Single “So Called Life” Shipped to Radio
Nashville, TN (April 23, 2012) — Montgomery Gentry’s music video for their Top 10 radio smash, “Where I Come From,” has been nominated in the “Duo of the Year” category for the upcoming 2012 CMT Music Awards. Voting begins today, April 23, on CMT.com.
The powerful music video, shot from a deployed soldier’s viewpoint, is one of the most intense, influential videos ever done by the duo and they are proud the video has been recognized by their peers. “This is awesome! This song has had a lot of meaning to me and T-Roy and it is an honor to be nominated,” says Eddie Montgomery. “We’re just so proud of all of our military heroes and this was a way of paying tribute.”
Troy Gentry adds, “Its always exciting when something you are extremely proud of is recognized by peers and friends. We are so thankful for the amazing response this song has received. Eddie and I have always sang songs that are close to our hearts and this nomination for such a powerful video makes us proud.”
Directed by Potsy Ponciroli and produced by Chris Conner from Team Genius Productions, the video was shot in a California desert and a rock quarry in Nashville, TN. Working closely with the video treatment, Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry wanted to honor the troops and the towns “where they come from.” The video opens with a battlefield scene with a wounded soldier laying on the ground. While his fellow soldiers try to rescue him, he is having flashbacks and memories of his beloved hometown.
The 2012 CMT Music Awards will air LIVE from Nashville on Wednesday, June 6 on CMT and CMT.com. Fans can vote online at CMT.com, and on their mobile device at CMT Mobile or the CMT Insider app available on iPhone, iPad and Android now through June 4 to determine the winners.
“So Called Life,” the follow-up single to their recent Top 10 radio hit, has been shipped to radio and is going for adds on Monday, April 30. For up-to-date information on Montgomery Gentry, visit www.montgomerygentry.com

The Band Perry’s “If I Die Young” Certified Quadruple Platinum
BEST SINGLE SALES OF ANY OTHER COUNTRY ACTS IN THE PAST 18 MONTHS
With Over 4 Million Copies Sold, The Trio’s Breakout Hit Maintains A Long Life
Nashville, TN (March 6, 2012) – On the heels of celebrating a recent two-week #1 with their Gold-certified single, “All Your Life,” and a Platinum debut album, the excitement continues this week for The Band Perry. The RIAA has certified their #1 smash, “If I Die Young” Quadruple Platinum for sales exceeding 4 million. The breakout hit is the only single from a debut album in the last 18 months to achieve this status and has sold more copies than any other Country artist in the same timeframe.
The irony of the title and the song’s enduring success are not lost on the sibling trio. “”We are honored by this acknowledgement and thankful that so many of you have connected with this song,” said Kimberly Perry, who was honored as the song’s author with the 2011 CMA Award for Song of the Year.
The 2012 ACM Group of the Year nominees will host the upcoming GAC television special, highlighting the 2012 ACM New Artist of the Year contenders. Just last year, The Band Perry was named both the ACM and CMA New Artist of the Year and earned the CMA Single of the Year and the CMT Music Awards’ for Breakthrough Video of the Year. Previously they garnered GRAMMY, TEEN CHOICE, AMA and ACA award nods.
“Each time the bar is set, it seems that The Band Perry surpasses it! Selling over 4 million downloads on just one song is a huge accomplishment. This extremely talented group is remarkable and we’re thrilled to have them as part of the Republic Nashville family,” said Republic Nashville President Jimmy Harnen.
The Band Perry is currently touring as a special guest on Brad Paisley’s VIRTUAL REALITY WORLD TOUR 2012 as well as headlining their own dates. Their next up-tempo single, “Postcard From Paris,” is going for immediate airplay at Country radio.
