Today Is A Bittersweet Day In History For The Dixie Chicks

Love ‘em or hate ‘em, there’s no denying the Dixie Chicks were on top of the country music world for a while. Once Natalie joined the band, they rose to fame just about as quick as they fell from grace. In fact, on this day back in 1998, Monument released their first major label album Wide Open Spaces.

Wide Open Spaces was huge. All five singles released were top ten country hits and three were number ones (There’s Your Trouble, Wide Open Spaces and You Were Mine). Here’s a look back at their very first number one song There’s Your Trouble. Enjoy!
