Country Stars Born Today – Deborah Allen, Marty Stuart And Eddie Montgomery – Enjoy Their Biggest Hits

On this day in 1953, Deborah Allen was born in Memphis, Tennessee. Back in 1983, Deborah enjoyed a lot of success on the country charts when she charted two top five singles: Baby I Lied (#4) and I’ve Been Wrong Before (#2). While I’ve Been Wrong Before is her highest charting country single, she’s most remembered for Baby I Lied because it was not only a country hit, but also a crossover hit on the pop charts.

He’s married to another country music legend, Connie Smith. Marty’s charted over 35 singles on the Billboard Hot Country charts. His highest charting solo single was 1991′s Tempted.

Eddie Montgomery is one-half of the very successful duo of Montgomery Gentry. Eddie was born on this day back in 1963 in Lancaster, Kentucky. Montgomery Gentry have five number one singles to their credit, but rather than feature one of them here, I want to feature one of the coolest moments I’ve seen on video in a long time. In honor of Eddie’s birthday, here’s footage of he and Troy getting an unexpected invitation to join the Grand Ole Opry by country legend Charlie Daniels. The joy and appreciation in both their faces is priceless.

On This Day In 2007, Sugarland Kicked Off Their First Headlining Tour With Jake Owen & Little Big Town

It’s hard to believe that it’s only been four years since Sugarland started headlining concerts. It seems like they’ve been headlining for much longer. But, on this day back in 2007, they kicked off their first headling tour with Jake Owen and Little Big Town at the North Charleston Coliseum in South Carolina. That tour spawned some very cool collaborations with their opening acts like this one covering Def Leppard’s Pour Some Sugar On Me. Enjoy!
