Now that Blake Shelton has been a married man for a year, I thought it’d be fun to take a look back at Blake in 2008 when he was named one of People Magazine’s sexiest men. Blake was in New York City, and in this video, he tests out his new ‘Super Power’ with some random women in NYC. Enjoy!

Blake Shelton Hits No. 1 With “Drink On It”

Single Marks Shelton’s Sixth Consecutive Chart-Topper

NASHVILLE, TN – April 16, 2012 – Three-time GRAMMY nominated artist and reigning ACM and CMA Male Vocalist of the Year Blake Shelton is celebrating his sixth consecutive No. 1 hit this week with “Drink On It.” The song marks Shelton’s 11th No. 1 single overall, and caps an incredibly successful spring for the man Rolling Stone calls “one of country music’s biggest stars over the last decade.”

Shelton recently wrapped his sold-out headlining arena tour, “Well Lit & Amplified,” which earned raves in all markets; with the St. Louis Post-Dispatch saying “Shelton wrapped the crowd around his finger with a fan-friendly mix of songs and storytelling.” The past four months have also seen Shelton complete his second stint as co-host of the ACMs, and perform “America the Beautiful” at the Super Bowl with wife Miranda Lambert. He can currently be seen every week as one of the coaches on NBC’s hit singing competition The Voice, alongside fellow superstars Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, and CeeLo Green.

“I really couldn’t be happier about this one y’all,” said Blake. “Bob Reeves and the WMN team, you beat the odds and won the game, and country radio, you are my brothers and sisters…I love you. Thanks so much for always supporting my country a*s. Now, let’s Drink On It!”

Blake Shelton is one of the “most versatile of contemporary country singers” (The New York Times). The reigning ACM and CMA Male Vocalist of the Year was nominated for three GRAMMY Awards in 2012. “Drink On It” is the follow-up from his three-week No. 1 song, “God Gave Me You,” off his current release, Red River Blue, and marks Shelton’s sixth consecutive No. 1. Red River Blue debuted at No. 1 on the Soundscan Top Current Albums chart and Soundscan Top Country Albums chart with the Associated Press calling the album “the best album of his career.” Shelton’s infectious multi-week No.1 hit, “Honey Bee” is also off Red River Blue and is his first ever digital Platinum single. He holds the record for the fastest-selling digital Platinum single for a male country solo artist. The single held the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Country chart for four weeks in a row with over 40 million in audience. No country artist has held this record in almost six years. Shelton now has eleven No. 1 hits and has not had a single peak outside the Top Ten since 2007.

Miranda Lambert And Blake Shelton Talk About Writing Miranda’s New Single That Honor’s Blake’s Brother

The first time I listened to Miranda Lambert’s new album Four The Record, Over You was by far my favorite song on the album. It’s a powerful song that Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert wrote together to honor Blake’s older brother Richie who died in a car wreck when Blake was a teenager. In this video from the AP, Blake and Miranda talk about how emotional it was for them to write the song together.

P.S. The second video features Over You in it’s entirety. If you haven’t picked up or downloaded Miranda’s Four the Record, please do so now. It is truly amazing!

Drink On It is the third single from Blake Shelton’s Red River Blue album. It was written by Jon Randall, Jessi Alexander and Rodney Clawson. The video below from our friends at TheBoot.com is a little different to say the least. It was filmed at Nashville’s Tin Roof bar and restaurant.
