Happy Birthday To John Rich – Watch ‘The Good Lord And The Man’

Today is John Rich’s birthday. Happy Birthday John! Love ‘em or hate ‘em, you can’t deny that he stands up for what he believes in. We’d all be better off if everyone would stand up for something. Too many people go through their lives trying to please everyone. Whatever it is that you believe in, believe in it.

Okay… okay. Sorry for the soapbox. Anyhow, enjoy John performing The Good Lord And The Man (Live).

Happy Birthday To Allison Krauss – Enjoy Three Of Her Biggest Hits

As talented as Allison Krauss is, it’s amazing to me that she only has one solo top 30 hit on the Billboard Hot Country charts. Back in 1995, she took When You Say Nothing At All all the way to number three on the country charts. She does have a number one country single to her credit though.

In 2000, she joined Kenny Rogers and Billy Dean for Kenny’s number single Buy Me A Rose, and in 2004, she teamed up with Brad Paisley for another number three country hit for Whiskey Lullaby, which to this day is one of the saddest music videos I’ve ever seen.

Even though she hasn’t had tremendous success on the charts, Allison is considered one of the most talented artists out there within the industry. Enjoy Allison’s biggest hits and join us in wishing her a Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday To Michelle Branch! Oh, How I Miss The Wreckers…

Michelle was born in Phoenix, Arizona on July 2, 1983. She and Jessica Harp formed the country band The Wreckers in July 2005 and scored a number one hit in 2006 with Leave The Pieces. Personally, I wish The Wreckers were still together. They had a unique sound that appealed to a wide variety of country audiences. Oh well. That’s the beauty of music. They may be over, but their music together will live forever. Enjoy and happy birthday Michelle!

Happy Birthday To Allison Moorer – Relive Her First Single – A Soft Place To Fall

Allison was born in Frankville, Alabama on June 21, 1972. She’s the younger sister of country singer Shelby Lynne. In 1998, she released her debut album Alabama Song, and her first single from the album was A Soft Place To Fall. The song was included on the soundtrack to Robert Redford’s The Horse Whisperer in 1998, and she also appeared in the movie. She received an Academy Award nomination for A Soft Place To Fall, and subsequently performed the song live during the 1999 Oscars ceremony.

Although she was thrust into the national spotlight because of the Academy Award nomination, none of her other singles from Alabama Song really took off on radio. She’s released seven more studio albums since then, but for whatever reason, country radio hasn’t supported her music. It’s a shame because she really is a very talented singer-songwriter. Enjoy this look back at her Oscar-nominated single A Soft Place To Fall. From all of us at Today’s Country Music Videos, we wish you a happy birthday Allison!

P.S. Speaking of talented singer-songwriters, Allison is married to Steve Earle, one of the best in the business.
