Miranda Lambert And Blake Shelton Talk About Writing Miranda’s New Single That Honor’s Blake’s Brother

The first time I listened to Miranda Lambert’s new album Four The Record, Over You was by far my favorite song on the album. It’s a powerful song that Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert wrote together to honor Blake’s older brother Richie who died in a car wreck when Blake was a teenager. In this video from the AP, Blake and Miranda talk about how emotional it was for them to write the song together.

P.S. The second video features Over You in it’s entirety. If you haven’t picked up or downloaded Miranda’s Four the Record, please do so now. It is truly amazing!

New Music Friday – Craig Campbell’s Video For Working Class Anthem ‘When I Get It’

Art Imitates Life in Inventive New Clip

Nashville, TN…(January 6, 2012)…Art often imitates life, and the set of Craig Campbell’s new video for working class anthem “When I Get It” was no exception. While attempting to shoot the fast action, tongue-in-cheek humorous music video, Craig and the crew found themselves at a standstill on set without any electrical power. Apparently, the owner of the private East Nashville home where the video was shot had neglected to pay his electric bill, which just so happens to be the lyrical premise of the song. The situation was rectified and shooting resumed within a few hours, resulting in the true-to-life video clip.

“When I Get It,” written by Campbell, Jason Matthews and Jim McCormick, is a tempo track with a light hearted lyric that describes the relatable financial struggles of the middle class. The song Music Row describes as an “extremely likeable, hard-times, sing-along tune,” is sure to become a fast fan favorite.

Directed by Wes Edwards/Ruckus Films (Jason Aldean, Brooks & Dunn, Trace Adkins), the video is unique in that it is taken from one continuous shot, without any editing. The video depicts Campbell’s belongings being repossessed by movers played by his true-life band members.

“Rehearsing the complicated sequence of movers, camera, and Craig in order to do in one take was stressful, but paid off in the end,” adds Edwards. “We pulled it off in one take and I’m extremely proud of what we accomplished!”

The “When I Get It” music video will premiere on Great American Country (GAC) starting this week. It can also be viewed below and on other TV outlets in the coming days.

“When I Get It” is the third single from Campbell’s recently released self-titled debut album.

ABOUT CRAIG CAMPBELL: After moving from his hometown of Lyons, Georgia to Nashville in 2002 to pursue his country music dreams, American Country Awards nominee Craig Campbell quickly picked up work as a keyboardist in Luke Bryan and Tracy Byrd’s bands and was later discovered playing a regular gig at legendary Nashville honky-tonk, The Stage.

The singer-songwriter has earned well-deserved praise from the country’s toughest critics for his self-titled debut album, which released in April of 2011. Campbell’s autobiographical lead single, “Family Man” was a top 15 hit followed by “Fish” which has sold a quarter of a million downloads. Welcome To The Country Site Network – If It’s Country, It’s On The Country Site!

Atlanta-based Pretty Cool Huh, LLC has announced that their longtime-planned Country Music flagship site The Country Site (www.thecountrysite.com) is live and welcoming visitors from around the world. The Country Site joins sister country sites Today’s Country Music Videos (www.todayscountrymusicvideos.com) and The Country Paparazzi (www.thecountrypaparazzi.com) to encompass The Country Site Network of Sites.

The Country Site founder and Pretty Cool Huh director Jason Pelham said,

“We’re very excited about the completion and addition of The Country Site to our repertoire of sites centered around the Country Music lifestyle. In addition to Today’s Country Music Videos, which focuses on the latest music videos from today’s and yesterday’s biggest country music stars, and The Country Paparazzi, which focuses more on photos of the musicians and personalities who make up today’s Country Music scene, The Country Site is really going to put it all together. We will feature not only the photos, music and videos of these stars, but also news and rumors from the world of country music. In short, if it’s Country, it’s going to be on The Country Site.”

Today’s Country Music Videos, first launched in July, 2007, was Pelham’s first foray into blogging about country music, and has grown to become one of a handful of sites that loyal country music enthusiasts turn to for up-to-date information on their favorite stars. Pelham added The Country Paparazzi in January, 2010.

“We found that although the site was created to showcase music videos, we were providing so much more: news, contests, information…we knew that we needed a flagship site to bring all that content together,” adds Pelham.

“Our Facebook and Twitter presence has really exploded over the past couple years, and after we rolled out our brand new look to both the Videos and Paparazzi sites, it was time to answer our readers’ and followers’ demands for an all-encompassing site about Country Music. That’s what The Country Site will be all about.”

The new site will also begin to feature guest bloggers who love to write about Country Music.

“There’s a real growth in the blogosphere for writers who love their Country, but don’t have an outlet. We’re excited that The Country Site will be able to provide that outlet,” Pelham continued.

“We will be making a very open push for guest bloggers to become regular or occasional contributors to our network of sites. We believe that our network of these three web properties will allow for great opportunities for us to distribute our content out to many different channels, and also provide opportunities for advertisers to reach a lot of country readers as they satisfy their hunger for the very latest Country Music news, information, videos and photos.”
