Steve Earle To Release New Album And Debut Novel In 2011

According to CMT.com, Steve Earle is releasing a new album in April and his debut novel in May. Both the album and novel are titled I’ll Never Get Out Of This World Alive. Hank Williams fans will recognize the title as the title of the last single Hank released during his lifetime.

The album comes out on April 26, and the book is slated for a May release. One of the tracks on the album is This City, which was featured in the HBO series, Treme. Here’s Earle performing This City live in concert. Enjoy!

Jan 24, 2003 – Joe Nichols (pictured at right) sets an odd precedent on the Grand Ole Opry while performing “Brokenheartsville” at the Ryman Auditorium. A green bra is tossed on stage as he sings, supposedly the first time an undergarment has ever been thrown on stage in show history

Jan 4, 1966 – Deana Carter born in Nashville. Deana is the daughter of session guitarist Fred Carter, and her recording of “Strawberry Wine” (see video below) makes her folky, just-woke-up vocal style an instant winner. She won the CMA for song and single of the year in 1997


Jan 4, 1996 – Shania Twain is the leading country candidate in the Grammy awards as she picks up four nominations behind her album “The Woman In Me,” and she competes with Brandy, Hootie & The Blowfish, Alanis Morissette and Joan Osborne for Best New Artist.

Jan 4, 2000 – In receiving an award for “So Good Together,” Reba McEntire earns the distinction of having gold albums with new releases in three separate decades.
