Kenny Chesney Does The Right Thing And Plays In Tuscaloosa

Kenny Chesney’s tour stopped in Tuscaloosa, AL on Wednesday night, and it was a very emotional experience for both he and the fans. In this video, Kenny talks about landing in Tuscaloosa and what was going through his mind before he launches into an emotional My Home’s In Alabama. The video isn’t that great, but the audio in the video is very clear.

Kenny lunched with University of Alabama football coach Nick Saban, who has donated $50,000 toward rebuilding. Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox thanked Kenny and team for donating show proceeds to GiveTuscaloosa.com. Contributions are still being accepted online, by phone (205-758-7588) and by mail (checks payable to “Tuscaloosa Disaster Relief Fund,” P.O. Box 020410, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401).

Kenny Chesney’s Live A Little moved up to number one on the Billboard Hot Country charts for the week of May 7, 2011. It’s Kenny’s third number one single from the Hemingway’s Whiskey album. The song was written by David Lee Murphy and Shane Minor.

Interview – Kenny Chesney And Grace Potter Talking About Their Duet ‘You And Tequila’

You and Tequila is a track on Kenny Chesney’s new album Hemingway’s Whiskey. It’s actually one of my favorite songs on the album. It’s a duet with Grace Potter, the lead singer of Grace Potter & the Nocturnals. Last night at the Ryman, they were the opening act for the Avett Brothers, and they surprised the crowd by bringing Kenny onstage to sing this song with them.

According to CMT.com, “While many in the audience seemed to be in a state of disbelief, Chesney received a warm welcome when he walked onstage wearing khaki pants, blue long-sleeve T-shirt and knit cap. He watched the band’s entire set from the side of the stage.”

While I love seeing stars like Kenny in concert, I almost wish every major act would take a year off from touring because it enables them to do things like this. On another note, Kenny’s single Don’t Blink moved up to number one on the Billboard Hot Country charts on this day back in 2007. Enjoy Kenny’s new single and a look at one of his best as well!
