Today Is The Day Reba McEntire’s ‘Reba’ Debuted On TV Back In 2001

Reba’s sitcom was delayed a couple of times due to the September 11th attacks on the WTC and the Pentagon, but it officially debuted on the WB Network on this day back in 2001. Many of you, like me, still watch it in syndication today. Enjoy a look back at the Pilot episode in it’s entirety!

Happy Birthday To The Queen Of Country Music, Reba McEntire – Celebrate By Bringing Reba Home With You

Reba was born on March 28, 1955 outside of Kiowa, Oklahoma, to Jacqueline Smith and Clark Vincent McEntire. From all of us at TheCountrySite.com network of sites, we’d like to wish Reba a happy birthday!

While browsing one of our favorite sites, CountryMusicTattleTale.com, we noticed an article featuring the Reba Barbie Doll. Did you know there was a Reba Barbie Doll? We didn’t, but then again, we’re not exactly up on the latest Barbie Doll toys.

We just thought we’d mention it in case you were looking for birthday ideas for that special Reba fan in your house.

Also, in case you missed this over the weekend, the video playlist below is for the Reba Project. In honor of Reba’s birthday, two of Reba’s biggest fans on Twitter, @RonnieReebsFan and @Reba_Fan_12, created a video project with the help of many of Reba’s Tweebas (Reba’s Twitter fans) telling Reba something special about how she has influenced their lives. It’s a touching tribute that shows just how much Reba is loved by her fans.

Again, from all of us, happy birthday Reba. You’re the best!

P.S. If you haven’t visited yet, please check out new site dedicated to Reba located at RebaMcEntire.TheCountrySite.com.

Reba McEntire’s Dad Is ‘Doing A Lot Better’

Clark McEntire via ProRodeoHallOfFame.com

According to our friends over at CountryMusicTattleTale.com, Reba McEntire says her father is doing better after his stroke. Reba said, “He’s responding and awake. So, he’s doing a lot better.”

Reba’s dad Clark, a three-time Rodeo Steer Roping World Champion, had a stroke just before the announcement that Reba would be inducted into the Country Music Hall Of Fame back on March 1st.

Our prayers are with you Reba, and we wish your dad continued success in his recovery.

The Winner Of The First Of Three Autographed Reba McEntire ‘All The Women I Am’ CDs Is: Rebecca!

Congratulations to Rebecca, our first winner of an autographed Reba McEntire All The Women I Am CD!

Her name was randomly drawn this morning from all the comments left on our post last week. Thank you to everyone for the amazing comments left for Reba. We’re going to forward all of your comments to our contact at her record label, and hopefully, she’ll see them all. If you’re on Twitter, we’d appreciate it if you’d also forward this post with all the comments to @Reba as well. Here was Rebecca’s comment for Reba:

“I first heard Reba when I was 5 yrs. old. My mom, grandparents, and I were listening to the radio when Reba’s “Whoever’s In New England” came on. I stood there staring at the radio the whole song. I’d never heard such a lovely voice. I got all excited, exclaiming, “Who was that!?” and was told it was Reba McEntire. It was that moment when I fell in love with her voice.

Through the yrs. her music has been my refuge in times when I’ve had a bad day or life was getting too rough. I’ve been through a lot in my life and it’s always been Reba’s music that I’ve gone to for comfort.

The more I listened to Reba’s music and watched her on interviews and even read her biography, the more I liked her. She is this hard working, loving, compassionate, strong person. Someone I have always looked up to and admired. Someone I’ve always wanted to be like.

Her music has always been my refuge. I can listen to her sing and it’s like all my troubles seem to melt away as I listen to her angelic voice. And, with her words of wisdom and encouragement, I’ve been lifted up and given the courage and strength to go on even when all I felt like doing was giving up.

There was a time when for yrs. almost all I listened to was Reba. I just couldn’t get enough of that angelic voice of hers and those songs that touch your heart and at much needed times ones that give you that boost to go on.

She even kind of felt like a friend at a time growing up when I didn’t really have many true friends. So, it had just always been a dream of mine to meet her. To thank her for all of the wonderful, encouraging, inspiring music she puts out there and for just being the wonderful, caring person she is. But, that has yet to happen and I’m just hoping someday it will. For now, I’d just be happy with getting her autograph.”

P.S. Don’t fret if you didn’t win. There are still two more chances to win. We’ll announce the details for the 2nd CD this afternoon. But, here’s a hint. You need a Twitter account, and you must be following us to win! We’re @TodaysCountry on Twitter. Stay tuned for details…
